Given that this is a revenge play and given the fact that Revenge appears on stage as a character (and even falls asleep!), what is the logic of revenge? Why can Don Andrea's death be revenged without the active participation of the character named Re venge?

In pitching the play "Soliman and Perseda" to his future victims, Hieronimo asks "What's a play without a woman in it?" (4.1.97). What is the role of Bel-Imperia in this play? Is she a sacrifice like Isabella, a revenger in her own right, or primarily a lover or what?
