Views of Women in Renaissance Society

During the Renaissance women were viewed as subordinate andlower than men. In plays all of the women's parts were played byyoung boys that had to dress up in women's clothing and have highvoices to be a convincing female. The roles were played by boysbeca use women were considered lower than men and therefore couldonly do certain things.

The real women in society dealt with discrimination andimmobility because they were female. Social movement betweenclasses was hard at the time. The few high women in societyattained their position through having a rich husband or a deceasedhusband tha t left a large sum of money to them. There were no jobsor any other sort of advancements to further women along insociety. So mainly women stayed in their own level in society frombirth to death.
